Dirk Jansen was born and raised on the Island of Curacao, where he spent
several years in these idyllic surroundings. His love for nature and beauty was
stimulated at a very young age. An azure sea flowing into endless blue skies, a
surprising, exuberant flora and fauna twittering daily and a colorful vivacious
people influenced Dirk, and inspired his pronounced artistic talent.
Dirk is now living in The Netherlands, where he has been a professional photographer for
more than 20 years. Initially working as a successful commercial photographer, now Dirk
has applied himself to his first love, landscape photography. To freeze the essentials
is what he aims for. The catching of landscapes in their purest form — without inessential
details and cosmetic intervention — in such a way that the observer feels oneself part of the landscape.
